Program Overview

The Master of Science in Quantum Engineering offers an education program at the forefront of quantum physics, electrical engineering, and information technology.

To obtain a Master of Science ETH in Quantum Engineering, 120 credit points (ECTS) are required. According to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), each credit point corresponds to approximately 25-30 hours of work. Generally, the Master in Quantum Engineering takes 4 semesters to be completed.

The first two semesters are devoted to classroom course work. The main focus during the second semester is a semester project, the first independent research project. The industry intership, which can be substituted by a Quantech Workshops, will follow. During the third semester, students finish remaining coursework. The fourth semester is fully reserved for the final Master's Thesis. Topics for research projects can be found on the websites of the institutes and laboratories associated with the QE program.
